I Am

I am different, yet the same

I wonder about our time

I hear the voices screaming my name

I don’t want to live a crime.

I see devils dance before me

But don’t take me for the blame

Because as everyone else in this world,

I am different, yet the same

I pretend the skies are brighter

I feel my light inside

I touch the things that call forbidden

I worry of my demise.

I cry when my eyes tell me to,

But I do not feel the shame

Because as everyone else in this world,

I am different, yet the same.

I can’t understand the obvious

I say, “it doesn’t matter,”

I dream of absolute nonsense

I try to make lives better.

I hope you have a good day

And didn’t think my poem was lame

Because like everyone else in this world,

I am different, yet the same.
